Geocache Description:

Panteon Civil de Dolores is Mexico's largest cemetery, located in the Chapultepec area. The history of the cemetery goes back to 1870 when Dolores Murrieta de Galloso acquired 2,400,000 square meters of land on which to found a cemetery. She died in 1874, leaving the work unfinished but her family completed the project. In 1875, the cemetery opened and was named in Dolores’ honor.Today the cemetery has about 700,000 tombs, many with multiple occupants.

Take a stroll through the cemetery and look at all different styles and looks of the toombs and the activity ongoing. The cache is hidden at the far back side of the cemetery, well away from the nearest toombs.

You can enter the area with car, either from Constituyentes or Avenida Bosques. Suggestion is to park close to the entrance and then take a walk.

Make sure to check out the "Rotonda de las Personas Ilustres" where many prominent Mexicans are burried, and also the starting point of a multi-cache.

The cemetery is open from 6am to 6pm.
