A cache located 3 km north of Archanes
The paradise near Heraklion. It is located by the river Kairatos, a river which is mentioned as a resident since the prehistoric days.It is passing under the town of Archanes, passing by Knossos and ending at the city of Heraklion at the area of Katsabas. The church which lay above the river is Panagia Kardiotitsa. It was build around 1000 and unfortunately now is just ruins.To cross the river you have to pass a “bridge”. It is an aqueduct built by Morozini at 1627. It is part of the three aqueduct who brought water at the city from the source at Moni Karidaki. It is in very good condition and you can cross it.
To arrive to the area of the cache you drive to Archanes from Heraklion and about 100 meters after the junction which leads to the town you will find a road to the right which goes to Sylamos.
The cache is located at the opposite from the road side.
