A simple cache placed near a little known children's park on 'The Flake' at Stanton by Dale. Park at either of the village pub car parks or incorporate it in a mini-crawl through the village for the family. Placed beside a footpath it is accessible for buggies in the grass field. The Flake has picnic benches and some good play apparatus for such a small village. The pubs are good and close to the cache (always a bonus).
This Flake cache is a purpose-placed starting point for a travel bug race between five local children. The cache contains five little green aliens who will race around the world to see how far they can travel in 2010. Please help them on their way.
A simple watertight container placed handily between two good local pubs which both have car parks and near The Flake children's park. A good quality refurbished play area for a kids (good for such a small village) with picnic benches if you want to combine it with a family trip out.
*PLEASE NOTE: This is not IN the wall, please dont start dismantling the wall!
You can park in the Stanhope or Chequers pub car parks or on the road through the village. Walk past the cross (placed 1623) at the centre of the village up Flake Lane. It's a short jaunt so it can be a cache-and-dash if you like.
Accessible to buggies as long is it isn't monsoon season with views over the old Stanton Steel Works and the M1 winding northwards in the distance.
Please respect the locals and the church as you seek this cache as it is not in the church yard but outside the boundary. If you use the car parks try and use the pubs if you can.
Please help these aliens on their way around the world...
