A40 actually! – Or to be precise, Austin A40!
Yep, in 1965 the Austin A40 was used in a robbery, and in the ensuing police chase the car rolled! It lost its roof, and all its windows and finally ended up here. So with the resourcefulness and ingenuity of the local ski club, it was turned into a ski tow! With a rope running around one of the back wheels and with a pulley wheel attached to the lift poles, the A40 commenced operation! – But to read the rest of the story, you will have to visit the site!
At 1644m, Mount Franklin is ACT’s 13th highest mountain. As implied, in winter it is often covered in snow! (In that situation, this cache would probably not be retrievable!) Getting to the cache is easy, simply park at the Mt Franklin car park, and walk up the trail to the peak. Whilst here, enjoy the views for a while, and then follow another path 100m down the hill to the cache site!
Please BYO pen.
