Geocache Description:

Greyton's water supply

One of Greyton's water sources is the Noupoort Stream. If one walks up the poort on a summers day it is one of the coolest places to be. I wanted to put the cache at the waterfall pool but GPS readings were too unreliable in the narrow gorge. So the cache is at the mouth of the gorge and a walk to the waterfall is recommended after you've recorded your find. The cache is a small white round container in a brown zip bag and only small items can be traded.
Swimming is not supposed to be allowed but a lot of people do so and the water is chlorinated before distribution.
During the summer the weir near the cache is virtually empty but in winter the water flows strongly over the wall.
Park at the N end of Park Street (where else?) at the entrance to the reserve and use common sense from there.
