The cache is about 10 minutes from Arthur river, and offers another view of the edge of the world. Easily found, this little detour won't take you long.
This cache is nearby to Arthur River.
The township of Arthur River is a 15 minute drive south of Marrawah on a very good sealed road. There are numerous camping grounds in and around Arthur River. There are also numerous accommodation options. There are two small general stores in the town. A very good location to base yourself for touring The Tarkine Coast.
There are also two vessels which take cruises upstream on the the majestic Arthur River for about 15 kilometres. We took the older of the two, and thoroughly enjoyed it. A nice alternative to the very commercial entities further south on other rivers.
We camped on the very edge of town, in a National Parks campsite. Fees apply, but well worth the token amount. Comparable to many caravan parks, excepting that in caravan parks you get showers! Very big grounds, many spots to choose from. At Arthur River there are three campgrounds with water and toilet facilities. Wood is not supplied to campsites but can be collected from the beaches. Many other free range camping areas are within the Reserve.
Fuel and Groceries
There are two small stores at Arthur River. They supply basic grocery lines, ice, some hot food, fishing gear and baits. No fuel is available at Arthur River. Redpa General store or Marrawah General Store are the nearest fuel outlets.
