Geocache Description:

Cacheport #119

Our beloved mascot "Signal the Frog" needs our help! After traveling the world in search of new geocaching ideas to further improve the game we all love, Signal was heading home to the Lily Pad in the Emerald City with his secret finds when the unthinkable happened. Groundspeak's plane "Signal 1" was shot from the sky by terrarists from a competitive geocaching service. So far no group has claimed responsibility but at this time that is secondary. Of primary concern is the recovery of the secret cargo from Signal 1. The founders of Groundspeak, being Jeremy, Elias and Bryan, are sending you out for this recovery mission. But you must hurry as other groups that support some alternative geocaching sites are also searching for these fresh and new ideas in hopes of finally giving themselves a competitive edge.

Signal the Frog, being one smart frog, was able to jettison a container that holds a secret stamp and flight logbook as well as a few modest trade items. The location of that container has been encoded into the black box of Signal 1. The black box was placed at the posted coordinates above when Signal the Frog was able to make an emergency landing at this airport. If you have the right technology then your handheld GPS will be able to receive the coordinates once you are within 10 meters. There is no need to actually find the black box, which will self destruct if touched by non-Lackeys.

However it has also been learned that Signal the Frog was also able to hide the location of the container in some images taken during the flight. All of the other geocaching websites already have these images and insiders report they are trying to crack the code that these images contain so that they can get to the container before you. If you do not have the ability to access the technology to read the coordinates at the posted location then perhaps you can determine the codes. Groundspeak has not been successful in cracking the images yet either but will contact you if they do. Do not waste time waiting. If you don't have the technology then use these images to find the container. If you can get to the container before Groundspeak's competition then the game we all love will be saved.

Guest Reviewer - Frogfoot1 : When I think of the international jet-set of reviewers, Frogfoot1 is one of the first that comes to mind. Such a groovy and friendly guy, he is has the sparkle in his eyes of a child and enjoys himself immensely. And he is a very giving person too, a model for many others to aspire to be.

The Cacheport Series: This is cache #119 - Please make sure that you perform your cancellation with your Cacheport book, if you are participating in this optional activity.
