Shotgun & Peashooter: After 7 years, over a thousand logs, and one of the highest rated geocaches in Central Oregon, we are very sad to say that we are now archiving our beloved Bend Travel Bug Motel.
Checking this afternoon, we find that 12 out of 20 travelers that were logged into our motel over the last couple months are now missing. Not a first at all, about every 3 months we check on our guests and find the same thing time after time. We have been finding the lock hanging without being locked, and general McJunk trade items being deposited.
I guess geocachers nowadays just don't read the rules, or know how to play the game, especially when trading trackables. Rules posted on this description page are also posted within the cache itself, but some ignore what we and geocaching ask and continue to force us to answer email after email wondering what has happened to other geocachers trackables. Those are the geocachers that are responsible for our choice this afternoon.
We are not here to oversee a junk flea ridden roach motel, and that is what people have turned this into the last year or so. As of today April, 27th, we hereby have sold the Bend Travel Bug Motel to investors, and it will no longer be an active geocache.
Sorry folks, really sad to say, but another one bites the dust....
