Happy Cachemas 2009!!!!!
We are pleased to present “The
NoVAGO 12 Days of Cachemas”, a cache series starting on
December 25 that is modeled after a familiar Christmas song.
Starting on December 25th, one new cache in this series will be
released each day, until “The 12 Days of Cachemas” song
is complete. Each cache in this series contains important clues.
Collect all twelve clues and figure out the location of the prize
cache with some very special prizes. To date, the following NoVAGO
2009 Cachemas caches have been published:
#1. A Micro in an Ivy Patch
GC21BPG
#2. Two Beavers Puzzling GC1282A
#3. Trois poules françaises
GC21CD4
#4 For Caching Birds GC21PCP
Start at a Welcoming place at the posted
coordinates and use your flashlight to find a trail of reflective
white tacks that will lead you on a stroll through McLean. Go to
the spot where you find the first tack, stand there with your
flashlight and start looking for the next tack that marks your
trail. If you cannot see another tack from that spot, try varying
your position a little bit in case another object is in the way,
and keep looking. If that doesn't work, you may need to take a few
steps in what looks like a likely direction and then look
again.
The surrounding city lights will make it
harder some times, since they keep your eyes from adjusting to see
their best in the dark. We have tried to minimize the light
interference, but it will still be an issue. The tacks are usually
easier to see if the flash light is held at your eye level. Finding
two tacks together will put you near the final cache, and your
flashlight will guide you the rest of the way.
Please use care when crossing the streets,
and consider using the crosswalks for all street crossings if the
traffic is heavy.
Don't forget to take a clue for the the
Novago Cachemas Bonus cache! The clues are attached to small
holiday ornaments for the first ten finders. First to Find has a
small wrapped surprise as well.
