Geocache Description:

Easy terrain in Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary

The container is a medium sized tupperware covered with black duct tape.

Ground breaking for the Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary Restoration and Water Improvement located on Broncosky Road in Dundee Township was held on June 12, 2009. Due to a grant assistance from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and the Chicago Metropoliton Planning Association, Dundee Township residents are able to appreciate and enjoy this site (a former gravel pit) for passive recreation. Restoration and enhancement included 3.5 miles of trails suitable for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and of course geocaching!
