When you start at Meia Legua (situated between Ribeira Brava and
the Encumeada Tunnel) you will find two different paths with stairs
and lamps. The western path leads you above the abyss and close to
Abismo - the twin cache of Espigao.
Not far from the narrow and noisy valley of the Ribeira Brava
Furna(s) is an oasis of silence. The reference points at the end of
the trail will help you not to be frightened by walking near the
abyss (Abismo).
At the final you have great views. See spoiler for the

O quieto gémeo de Espigão
Começando em MeiaLégua (situado entre Ribeira Brava e o túnel da
Encumeada) encontra-se dois caminhos diferentes com escadas e
candeeiros. O caminho no oeste segue à cima do abismo e perto da
cache "Abismo" - o gémeo da cache "Espigão". Não muito longe do
vale ruidoso da Ribeira Brava o sítio de Furnas é um oásis do
silêncio. Os pontos de referência no fim do trilho ajudam vocês
para não ficar arrepiado com o passeio ao abismo.
