Please be advised this is not in the church grounds !!

The present Anglican church of St Michael and All Angels

was consecrated in 1938, replacing the previous Mission Church building, which is now the Bishop Chadwick Hall. The architects rejoiced in the name of Messrs Crowe and Careless. The floodlighting and gold cross on the church tower were donated in memory of the Rev Canon Frank Leech who was Vicar when I attended. In my youth I could take the footpath across the golf course, over the stile and use the gate to cut into the church car park; the gate is now disused,sadly, but can still be seen at N51.35.242 E000.12.057. You won't need to leave the Public footpath which can be accessed at the “Maritime” pub N51.35.220 E000.12.067 or from across the golf course.(Please keep to footpaths). You are looking for a small clip container, which, when placed contained something special for the FTF, Batteries, a mobile rubber, a gold medal, belt clip, and a Swedish collector's coin No 0179. Whoops! I forgot to put a pencil in- will rectify this asap. The nearest parking is for Patrons only- so you may have to drop in afterwards! Because of heavy tree cover I've given a nice clue!
