This is the most distant view of Camels Hump that I have discovered, but I would welcome information about more distant views. Oh! I just thought of a place to check!
This cache marks the halfway point of the series (if you are really super-compulsive and keep track of such things: yes, I know--I just haven't found it yet), so it seemed appropriate to management to make this a special one. To that end, I have been holding out on you.
From this vantage point and above, you will see a magnificent panorama of the Green Mountains, including Camels Hump, of course, from a high meadow of the type that we once had in abundance in Vermont.
Views like this have become rare in Vermont because of the low prices farmers are paid for milk in particular and our agricultural policy skewed to industrial rather than family farms in general.
The cache itself is winter friendly, but there isn't any real parking. We just pulled off the road when we put the cache out during a warm November. The road may be too marrow to do that if there is much snow.
