The Surviving in Buenos Aires series is based off
Alexholic's excellent
surviving the virus series and describe a post-geocaching
world, a zombie-type story. If you don't like this type of story,
below you have a simple version.
I don't know how it happened, I couldn't believe what my eyes
saw. The worse nightmare… the scariest zombie movie can't
mach this reality we are forced to live now.
It all started a couple of weeks ago, when I was geocaching in
Alexandria (Virginia, USA). After some nice caches I found
Alexholic's excellent 'Surviving
the virus' cache series. These caches showed me the awful
truth, and after knowing these things nothing is the same
anymore.
Nobody knows for sure what happened, but its seems about a month
ago a virus mutated or a government biological weapon test went
wrong. According to
Alexholic's logs, TV broadcasts at first reported that it was
stronger flu, that killed most of its victims. But after a while
those who survived started showing the real symptoms.
So, suddenly I was completely alone in a city I didn't now. A ghost
city, and I being totally at risk. Luckily Alexholic left enough
clues and information. This was the one thing that helped me
survive, until I was able to find an abandoned Cessna with lots of
fuel, enough to return home. I left a note for Alex and waited as
much as I could for him, but he never appeared. I hope he is
ok…
As I was returning, all my hopes where in that when I finally
reached home, everything would be ok. As Argentina is so many miles
away from USA I thought this was possible. But I was completely
wrong, the virus is already here and Buenos Aires looks just like
ghostly Alexandria now.
There's no time to loose, I must quickly hide this note in hopes
of getting in contact with more survivors, and help them survive.
We must unite, share resources and knowledge. If not, the same fate
awaits for us.
I've hidden this container in a very strange place. For some reason
when the sun gets down these creatures start to worship this all
seeing eye, this aberration. They form a circle around it and stay
there moaning for half an hour. After that they set on their hunt.
But at day it's a fairly secure place.
You may still don't understand what's happening, but don't worry,
I'm planing to leave more notes like this with valuable
information. Meanwhile, If you find this note please write below
about how you're holding up in this hard and obscure times.
Simple version
This
cache series is located between the Anchorena and Barrancas
Stations of the Tren de la Costa, in a
path only accessible by foot or by bicycle.
If you have one or two hours and want to excersice a little come
and check this huge serie of caches!
Also, dont forget to check the
Tren de la Costa Ride cache series, that has caches near most
stations.
When to search for the cache
When searching for this cache please
avoid busy moments such as weekends and holydays, as this
area gets really crowded with geomuggles.
In Argentina the Geocaching is not yet a game as popular as in
other countries, and is common that geomuggles steal caches just
for fun. So, please search and pick up the cache when no one is
looking, and later leave the cache the same way. Always try to
pass unnoticed.
Although the area is not dangerous avoid searching for this
cache at night.

If coming from abroad you can
contact me for additional information on reaching this area
(it's easy, safe and near touristic areas you could visit).
If you come by car there's free parking at the nearby streets,
and once you find the cache please sign the log giving us your
opinion and any comments you like, and feel free to leave your TBs,
TCs, and take anything you want. Just remember to always leave
something of equal or greater value!

La serie Sobreviviendo en Buenos Aires está basada en
la excelente
surviving the virus de
Alexholic y describe un mundo post-geocaching world, una
historia de estilo zombie. Si no es de tu gusto este tipo de
historias, mas abajo tienes una versión
simple.
No se cómo pasó, no podía creer lo que mis ojos veían. La peor
pesadilla, la película de zombies mas terrorífica no puede
compararse con esta realidad que estamos forzados a vivir
ahora.
Todo comenzó hace unas semanas, cuando estaba de geocaching en
Alexandria (Virginia, EE.UU.). Después de unos buenos caches me
encontré con la excelente serie de caches 'Sobreviviendo
el virus' de
Alexholic. Estos caches me mostraron la terrible realidad, y
tras saberla ya nada es como antes…
Nadie sabe a ciencia cierta que sucedió, pero parece que hace cosa
de mes un virus mutó o una prueba gubernamental de un arma
biológica falló catastróficamente. Según
los registros que leí de Alexholic, la TV al principio reportó
que se trataba de una gripe mas fuerte, que mataba a la mayoría de
sus víctimas. Pero después de un tiempo, aquellos que sobrevivían
comenzaron a mostrar los síntomas reales.
Así es como de pronto me encontré completamente solo, en una ciudad
que no conocía… una ciudad fantasma, en donde estaba
expuesto, con el más alto riesgo. Por suerte, Alexholic dejó
suficientes pistas e información. Es lo que me ayudó a sobrevivir,
hasta que encontré un Cessna abandonado con suficiente combustible
para volver a casa. Dejé una nota para Alexholic y lo esperé tanto
como pude, pero él nunca apareció. Espero se encuentre
bien…
Durante mi regreso, tenía todas las esperanzas que cuando
finalmente llegase a casa todo estaría bien. Como Argentina está
tan lejos de EE.UU. creía que esto era posible, pero me equivoqué.
Eel virus ya ha llegado y Buenos Aires se ve igual que la fantasmal
Alexandria.
No hay tiempo que perder, tengo que esconder este mensaje en un
contenedor con la esperanza de que otros sobrevivientes lo
encuentren y así ayudarles a sobrevivir. Tenemos que unirnos,
compartir raciones y conocimiento. De lo contrario, el mismo
destino nos espera que aquellos que ya han sucumbido a esta
terrible pandemia.
He escondido este contenedor en un lugar muy extraño. Por alguna
razón cuando el sol se oculta estas criaturas comienzan a adorar a
este 'ojo que todo lo ve'. Forman un círculo alrededor de este y se
quedan allí, aullando por una media hora. Luego se lanzan a la
cacería… Pero de día es un lugar muy seguro.
Quizás no entiendas que está pasando, pero no te preocupes, en mis
próximos mensajes voy a dejar más información. Mientras tanto, si
encuentras este cache por favor deja una mensaje y cuéntanos como
te las has arreglado para sobrevivir en estos tiempos tan difíciles
y oscuros.

Esta serie de caches se encuentra entre las estaciones
Anchorena y Barrancas del Tren de la Costa, en
un camino reservado para peatones y bicicletas que une ambas
estaciones.
Si tienes algunas horas libres y ganas de hacer un poco de
ejercicio, ven y diviertete encontrando esta nueva y gran serie de
caches.
También no te olvides de
la serie de caches del Paseo del Tren de la Costa, que tiene
caches cerca de casi cada estación del tren.
Cuando buscar el cache
Al buscar este cache por favor
evita momentos de alta actividad como los fines de semana,
esta área se llena por completo de geomuggles.
En Argentina el Geochacing todavía no es tan popular como en
otros paises, y es comun que los geomuggles roben los cachés por
simple diversión. Por lo tanto, por favor busca y recoge el
cache cuando nadie esté mirando, y luego deja el caché tal cual
como lo encontraste. Siempre intenta pasar
desapecibido.
Y si bien esta área no es peligrosa, evita buscar este
cache de noche.

las calles, y una vez que encuentres el caché por favor firma la
