Geocache Description:

A cache close to a beautiful lake with lots of wildlife for you twitchers out there. You now have two choices, take the footpath to the north east to continue on the main circuit, or fork right (NOT along the edge of the lake), across the field to start the orange loop to the Plough & Sail pub. If you continue on the main route, the footpath soon runs out and you’re into some field walking as the farmer has ploughed over the footpath but just follow your GPS and you'll be fine.

This series of "Micro free" caches was inspired by a weeks caching in the Cotswolds doing circular walks with caches placed approximately 0.25 miles apart to stop you getting bored on a long walk.

The map below shows details of the walk however, a clearer version is available in the gallery of the Big Bonus Cache GC21M2K.

The series is called the "Pretty Useful Byways Series" or PUBS for short and consists of a core circular walk of about 8 miles which amongst other things, will take you to the following country pubs where you may want to stop for some refreshments:

1         The Royal Oak - Great Stambridge.

2         The Punch Bowl - Paglesham Churchend.

3         The Anchor - Canewdon.

4         The Chequers Inn - Canewdon.

5         The Shepherd & Dog - Ballards Gore.

For the more adventurous there are also two loops which take you to the following pubs:

1         The Cherry Tree - Little Stambridge (Purple Loop).

2         The Plough and Sail - Paglesham Eastend (Orange Loop).

I have planned the walk to start from The Royal Oak, Great Stambridge where parking is available at the waypoint shown on the first cache in the series and to keep thing simple, this long text is identical for each cache and I've used the short text for any additional info to help you on your way.
