A cache at the meeting point of three gorges. 
The Astrakiano Gorge (also known as the gorge of Karteros) is part of a wider geological complex that consists of the gorges "Kounavoi-Astrakoi- Karteros" with a total length of about 21,5 km.
There are five main entrances to the gorges: one in Karteros, one in Aitania (bridge of Aitania), one in Ag. Paraskies (region of Kolomodi), one in Kato Astrakoi and one in the Valley of Peza (the entrance of the Kounaviano gorge). In each entrance there is an information kiosk.
The gorges of the park feature many sites of great historical and cultural value, such as the ancient city of Eltyna, the Minoan settlement of Myrtia and the Minoan cemetery of Astrakoi. Watermills were built lengthwise the gorge route, as there was abundant water in the area. Nowadays, the ruins of some watermills are still found in the gorge. The local flora consists of hydrophilous species, such as planes, willows, and osiers, as well as many other endemic species of Greece and Crete. The local fauna features more than 44 species of birds and 7 species of mammals. Therefore, the gorges are an ideal destination for nature lovers, but also for those interested in learning more about the history and cultural heritage of the region.
The cache is located at the meeting point of the three gorges. You can follow whichever gorge want, it will guide you there.If you don’t want to walk a lot you can park at the bridge of Aitania (20 min walking) or at the area Kali Rachi just after the village of Skalani(15 min walking).
