The Citadel is the main attraction of Victoria, the capital of Gozo.
It is located on a hill on which are about 1500 BC the first fortifications of the island was built.
Throughout history, the Citadel has been improved by the Phoenicians and Romans.
The later more impressive fortifications were built in 1599 by the Knights of St. John.
From the ramparts, one can gain a unique view of the city and large parts of Gozo.
The cache is easy to reach an there is no climbing necessary.
