Geocache Description:

The cache is not located at the posted coordinates

Below is what appears at first glance to be a list of crossword definitions. Except there is no crossword, the numbers are out of order, and some numbers are repeated. If you count the items in the list, you will see that it is a familiar number. You just need to order the associated numbers correctly to get the cache location. Here’s how:

First... each definition (multiple definitions for some, to make it a little easier on you) defines a common four-letter word, so you need to find those words. You will find the words to be in alphabetical order, which should help with solving this part.

Okay... you are done with the definitions, but keep each number associated with the words you have found. Each word represents two different things. So there are 30 different things, which are just part of a larger set of 50 related things. You need to next figure out what those things are.

Now... create (or find) another list that consists of the FULL SET of things (not just the 30) in order of their age, and with numbers 1 through N (N being the total number of things) assigned to each one; 1 being the oldest thing, and N being the youngest. You should find that two of the things are exactly the same age, so sort those two alphabetically by their names. (If you can find the right place to look, you should find this list available, without having to create it yourself.)

Next... take the two numbers from this list for the two things represented by each word in your original list, add them together, and assign that number to each word. For example, if one of the four-letter words was GAME, and the two things related to that word were items number 4 and 23 from the list, you would assign 27 to GAME, and do the same for each of the words.

So... you now have a new number (all should be two-digit numbers) assigned to each word. Sort the list of words in numerical order, based on these newly assigned numbers, keeping the one-digit numbers for the cache solution associated to each word. Again, break any ties by sorting the tied words alphabetically.

Finally... you should see a familiar pattern in the new order of the original single-digit numbers, which should lead you to the cache location! PLEASE take care in removing and replacing the container in its natural camo location. (Which, by the way, is at the base of a tree.) NOTE: The area is closed at dusk, so please plan your search during daylight.
