Geocache Description:

This cache is a magnetic camo film pot located less than 50m from the starting point. It is placed about 1.5m above ground level. So it shoud be accessible to wheelchair cachers.

WINTER UPDATE:
This cache is above ground level and should be accessible during snowy weather.

The start point is located at the large blue concrete model of a winkle.
This giant winkle commemorates the nearby Winkle Club.
I believe that the club was set up to help poor and distressed mariners and their families.

For anyone interested in joining this club, I don't think there are minimum member requirements.
I suspect however that the club keeps the details of members private.

To find the cache you need to visit the winkle at the given coordinates and calculate the following: The club was formed in the year abcd. The winkle is dated at the bottom efgh.
The cache is at N50 5(b-g-a). (h-a)(f-e)(h+e+a)
E000 3(h+a+c). (h+a+d)(h-c)(f-g-e)

The old Winkle was replaced on 18th March 2012 with a nice big shiny new one. As the information we used to locate the cache is no longer there we will have to rework this one! In the mean time please… Add 0.010 to the northing; and Subtract 0.006 from the easting.

Please be aware that there is pay parking along most of Hastings Seafront, and I'm told that the traffic wardens don't take prisoners.
