Geocache Description:

[LV] Plastmasas partikas karba ar zimuli, asinamo un logbooku.Slepnis netrodas pie HES tuvuma, bet uz netalu esosas salas. No slepna vietas ir redzams HES un tilts.
[ENG] Cache is plastic box with pencil, sharpener and logbook.Cache isn't near of HES, Cach located on nearest island. From Cach place You can see HES and HES bridge.

[LV] Vilanu dibinašanas gads nav isti zinams. Pirmo reiz Vilani mineti 1495. gada nomas liguma ar nosaukumu Wielona, ko ar savu parakstu un zimogu apstiprinaja Livonijas ordena mestrs V.fon Pletenbergs, sledzot ligumu par liena tiesibam ar feodali J.de Loe.

Janovskis, kas bija energisks, uznemigs un reti darbigs. Jau 19.gs. 50.gadu sakuma, blakus muižas namam Maltas upes stavaja krasta pie kracem uzcela lepnu trisstavu linu verpšanas fabrikas korpusu. Ta bija apgadata ar 40 verpjamajam mašinam un citiem darbgaldiem, ko darbinaja Maltas upes udens un tvaika speks. Fabrikas darba procesu vadija ipaši no Anglijas saligts meistars. Krievijas imperija bija pavisam tris šadas fabrikas, divas no tam atradas Maskava, treša Vilanos. Janovsku muiža atradas ari viena no lielakajam cariskas Krievijas adu apstrades rupnicam, kas apgadaja ar siksnam, somam, apaviem, segliem un citiem adas izstradajumiem Krievijas armiju. Pirma pasaules kara laika rupnicu, lidz ar dalu stradnieku, evakueja uz Jaroslavu. Muiža bija ari daudzas citas vietejas nozimes ražotnes — divi kalka cepli, kiegelu fabrika, udens dzirnavas, alus bruži. 1950.g. saka darboties Vilanu HES kuru atjaunoja 1994. gada, kura ir pirma privata elektrostacija atjaunotaja Latvija, šobrid pieder Janovsku dzimtas pectecim. Elektrostacijas jauda 480 kW. Atrodas uz Maltas upes 25 km no ietekas Rezeknes upe. Mans pirmais slepnis. Pirmajam atradušajam bus Geocoins, kas uzsaks celojumu tieši no šis vietas. No slepna vietas paveras jauks skats uz pašu HES udenskritumu un Maltas upi. Lai noklutu lidz slepnim bus jaiziet caur salu kompleksam, kas ir iecienita vietejo iedzivotaju pastaigu vieta. Esiet uzmanigi kapjot!
[ENG] The town was mentioned for the first time in 1495 with the name Wielona. In 1507, the largest estate of Latgale region became the property of de Overlak. In 1839, the Vilani estate became the property of Vincent Janovskis. At the beginning of 1850s, Janovskis built a three-storied flax mill. There were only three such flax mills in Russian Empire at that time. In Vilani there was the largest leather production factory in Russia. It supplied the tsarist army with belts, bags, footwear, saddles and leather accessories. In the estate, there were also several small factories, for example two limekilns, a brick factory, mills, breweries. In 1852, Vilani was called a hamlet.
The Vilani hydroelectric power station, built in 1950 and renewed in 1994, is the first renewed private hydroelectric power station in Latvia. Owner of Vilani hydroelectric power station is Henriks Janovskis from Janovsku family. Power of station is 480 kW. Power station is on Malta River 25 km from mouth to Rezekne. From Hidden place is nice look at Power station and Malta river.
My first Geocache. Nice walk through a islands complex which is most popular rest place. Be careful when climbing!
