La Cazane
[CZ]

Na protejší rumunské strane u ústí potoka Mrákon (Mraconia) vytesali horolezci do strmé 110 m vysoké skály obrí reliéf tváre dáckého krále a vojevudce Decebala. Reliéf vysoký 40 a široký 20 m navrhl mladý rumunský sochar Condarcea, žijící v Itálii.

Cazanele Mari (“The Great Kettles”)
The first part of the Danube glen, measuring 3,8 km, is surrounded by the Ciucaru Mare Mountains on the Romanian side and Veliki Strbac (768 m) on the Serbian side. While only 170 m wide at the narrowest point, before entering the glen near the village of Svinice (Svinita) the water flows at width of almost 2 km.

Cazanele Mici (“The Small Kettles”)
The second part of the Danube glen, 3,6 km long, is enclosed by limestone mountains Ciucaru Mic on the Romanian side and Mali Strbac (626 m) on the Serbian side. When leaving the glen, notice the “Tabula Traiana” (the Traian’s Board) on the right, Serbian side beyond the water surface. The inscription informs us about the building of a Roman road to Dacia between 33 BC and AD 106. At the mouth of Mraconia stream on the opposite, Romanian side, mountaineers sculpted into steep 110 m high rock massive a colossal carving depicting the face of Dacian king and warlord Decebalus. The relief’s dimensions are 40 x 20 m and it was designed by a young Romanian sculptor Condarcea, currently living in Italy.
