Honour the man who is resting here since 1838, though it's said he
was a cruel one, even to his own children.
His name was Lars Swensson and his title was "Hejderidare" which is
a very old name for something like a Crown forester
(jägmästare).
One of his dutys was to catch smugglers.
The legend says he was himself one of the worst.
When you find his stone, far from any churchyard, you can sit
down and rest on a little stone bench beside it. If you sit on the
left side of the bench, you will be very near the cache.
The cache is a small 35mm film can. It contains a logbook, a very
small pen and two coins with motif from the history of
aviation.
There is also a clue to the position of the final Hejderidaren
cache
When this multicache was first planned, a few days ago, this
place was a rather shrubby one and you had to get just a few meters
from the stone to see it.
Yesterday, someone cut down all the bushes and cleaned up the
place. Unbelievable.
Well, now it's definitely no problem to see the stone when you are
there, but it's still a challange to find a way to get there.
Addition: The stash had to be moved a few meters. See notes from
Oct 9, 2001 and Oct 10, 2001!
Note 18 oct 2001:
This is spooky. The stash dissapeared again. The place seems to be
cursed. Is there a small animal not pleased with the new furnish?
Is the museum extending their collection? Or could it be....? What
is 163 years for a man like Lars Swensson? He could at least have
logged it. Anyway, the tombstone and the bench is now at N57 40.651
E12 00.581. A new stash is placed there. The description above is
valid again. (The original coordinates for this stash was N57 40.
660 E12 00.607 The stone has been moved before in history, and the
place where it is now is very close to the where it was
originally.)
