It's been just over 29 years since the first space shuttle saw
operation. The shuttle is an amazing engineering marvel and from
its conception and well into the future, it will stand alone as one
of the most versatile, amazing spacecraft ever built. While it will
be sad to see this awesome machine retire in just over one year, it
gives way to a new vehicle capable of breaking the bounds of Low
Earth Orbit (LEO) and sending humankind deeper into the cosmos. The
vehicle is Orion and the program is
Constellation.
To find this cache, you must first visit each of the Orbiter
Micro Series caches listed below - one for each of the most
recently flying orbiters (OV102-OV105). Each cache will have
printed on the first page of the log a shuttle mission number (i.e.
STS-95). You will then need to find the day that the mission listed
launched and subtract that number from the number given below to
solve for the final location of the Orbiter Micro Series Bonus
Cache. For example, STS-95 launched on October 29th, carrying John
Glenn aboard the orbiter Discovery (OV103). In this case, AB = 68 -
29 = 39. You get the idea... Good luck!
There are prizes for the first *four* cachers who find this
cache. For every mission number found on one of the caches in the
series, there is a mission patch in the bonus cache. Please pick
your favorite mission and leave the remaining patches for the
others that follow.
Cache Equations:
AB = 68 - OV103 Mission Number
CD = 47 - OV104 Mission Number
EF = 11 - OV105 Mission Number
GH = 90 - OV102 Mission Number
Cache is located at:
N 29 3A.BCD
W 095 0E.FGH
