Aqueduct Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

coachstahly: Sadly, this one will have to go. The fence mentioned in the last log certainly didn't help matters but the new construction in the area also limited possible relocation of the cache. There's NO way to see the elevated Aqueduct without trespassing on private property and that's a no no in my book. Thanks to Parknet for allowing me to adopt and maintain it but circumstances beyond my control have forced my hand in this situation. There's room on the point (once construction is complete) to put a cache to see the aqueduct so that might happen in the future.

Geocache Description:

Indianapolis Aqueduct! The aqueduct is not too easy to get to but wait, the cache is on the other side! This is a great, secluded location! Have fun!

Originally built in 1836-37 as part of the Central Canal to move the canal over Fall Creek. The current aqueduct was built in 1904-05, a replacement for one washed away in a flood of Fall Creek on March 27, 1904.
