Geocache Description:

Tom Weir was usually to be found wandering the hills however in one episode he spends time exploring the Highland Wildlife park. His guided tour took in deer, owls, wildcats and wolves. This was in the 1970s and although the park is still running today, it is interesting to see all the changes to the layout and to the animals it is home to. There are even tigers in the park today!





The park was also were Mercedes the celebrated Polar Bear had her retirement. Sadly she has recently died but in the short time she was at the park she had a new lease of life thanks to the quality environment provided for her.
