Geocache Description:

This is a short multi cache and the round trip should take less than an hour.

It will involve a walk of approximately 0.3 mile from the suggested parking along a reasonably quiet country lane (watch for the fast driving locals though) followed by a walk of 0.3 mile through the fields over four stiles.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

This impressive flint and stone church was built in 1840 at a cost of £3,500. It was designed by Sir Henry Roberts in the style of a 12th century Norman church. The flying buttresses and the angels at the four corners were added by Teulon. It was deconsecrated in 1969 and is probably the only church known to house a full size squash court!

The church stands in the grounds of The Elvetham Hotel but access is via the public footpath to the east on Home Farm Road (see additional way-point).

NOW TO THE CACHE....

Close to the stated co-ords, you should find a memorial for Sarah Thumwood who died on AB February 1CD3, aged EF. Please be careful here - B does not equal E

The cache can be found at
N 51 18. (D-B-A) (C-A) B
W 0 52. E A F

The final cache is a disguised 35mm film canister, containing a log book only (no pencil).

EXTENDING THE SERIES

If anybody would like to expand the Church Micro series, please do, we would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
