I/ L’ église Saint-Michel (XVIème siècle)
Consacrée en 1573, elle aurait été bâtie par les hospitaliers de Montsaunès qui possédaient à l’époque une grange proche du village de Marignac.
Comme beaucoup d’autres églises de la région, elle avait autrefois un porche qui abritait l’entrée et la sortie à la fois des offices et des assemblées municipales….
Un première mairie y fut même bâtie, entre l’entrée de l’église et la tour d’accès au clocher !
Le clocher-mur est bâti en brique foraine, comme tout le reste de l’édifice.
La Croix de la Passion ( 1775)
Cette croix est adossée au mur sud de l’église.
Elle est l’œuvre d’un forgeron local qui a produit le même ouvrage l’année suivante au Fousseret. Elle est ornée de nombreux attributs de la Passion.
Vous y trouverez, autre autres détails, la bourse aux trente deniers - salaire de la trahison de Judas - et les trois dés à jouer qui ont servi aux soldats pour tirer au sort la tunique de Jésus.
Une cache « drive-in » un peu téméraire…. A vous de vous préserver des moldus… mais ceci devrait être une tâche relativement facile, car ils sont peu nombreux en général à cet endroit…

Saint Michel's Church (16th century)

Like many other area churches, it once had a porch which housed the entrance and exit of both offices and municipal assemblies. ...
The first town hall was even built there, between the entrance of the church and the steeple tower!
The bell-wall is built of brick, like the rest of the building.
The Passion Cross (1775)
This cross is built against the south wall of the church.
It is the work of a local blacksmith who produced the same work the following year in Le Fousseret. It is graced with many attributes of the Passion.
You will find, among other details, the purse with thirty deniers - salary of Judas' betrayal - and the three dice that the soldiers used to draw lots for Jesus’s tunic.
A somewhat reckless drive-by cache .... It is up to you to preserve yourself from muggles ….. but this should be relatively easy because generally, they are rather few in that site ...
