St Leonard's, Bledington
St Leonard's Church dates from 1170
The church is one of 170 in England dedicated to St Leonard, a 6th century French bishop (friend of Clovis) & later abbot (near Limoges), prayers to whom were believed to have brought about the safe release of the 12th century Norman crusader Bohemunde, sometime Prince of Antioch.
Whilst in the area, why not relax on the village green and if the sun is shining, why not quench your thirst with a pint in the pub!
This cache used to be the first of our BBC Series (a 9 mile/37 cache circular walk of the village) which has now been archived. We wanted to retain this cache as a Church Micro as a lasting marker of a series that attracted over 300 visitors. RIP BBC...

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. We would just ask that you contact sadexploration first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names and to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the bookmark list
