Geocache Description:

This cache forms part of a 5 mile walk around Wisley Village and the surrounding area. You are looking for a 35mm film cannister with a log and pencil inside.

Boldermere or Wisley Lake is situated in the middle of over 300 hectares of Ockham & Wisley common, Boldermere is owned by Surrey County Council and cared for by the National Trust. The water itself contains a good head of bream, roach and a few specimen carp. Boldermere lake and the small ponds in the area support many unusual plants and as many as 20 species of dragonflies and damselflies have been identified in the area, making Ockham Heath of national importance for this group. When the A3 was widened in the early 1990s the lake was moved back by the roadway. Unfortunately in the floods of 2000 the lake decided to take back the southern bound lanes of the A3 leaving it closed for 3 days. From here follow the path left around the lake and take care it can be muddy after wet weather. There is a sleeper walk if its flooded.
