Hidden on a footpath which runs along the original route of Brunel's broad gauge Wycombe Railway between Maidenhead and High Wycombe.
This cache can be found along the original route of Brunel's broad gauge Wycombe Railway between Maidenhead and High Wycombe. Opened in 1854 it was the main line between High Wycombe and London via Maidenhead until the construction of the far more direct Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway to and from London Marylebone in 1899. The former Wycombe Railway north of Bourne End was a fairly inevitable victim of the Beeching axe and closed in 1970.
Today it is a footpath that runs from Bourne End (starting on Cores End Road) to Wooburn Green, and is very popular route for cycling, running and walking your dog.
The cache is close to a well used junction of footpaths, so depending on which approach you use, you may arrive from any number of directions.
You are looking for a small snap lock container in a camo bag. You will need a pen or pencil to sign the log. When hidden the cache contained:
