[ENG]: Because the never-ending works on the palace near the hiding place, I enable this cache as a photolog-cache. Hence, you can log it by uploading a picture of you (or your GPS unit) at the cache coordinates. [ITA]: A cause dell'infinita durata dei lavori sul palazzo vicino al nascondiglio, ho riattivato questa cache come photolog-cache. Quindi, è possibile loggarsi caricando una foto di voi (o l'unità GPS) alle coordinate della cache.



[ITA]: La Punta della Dogana, chiamata anche Punta della Salute o Punta da Màr, è una zona di Venezia molto panoramica. Si presenta come una sottile punta di forma triangolare e divide il Canal Grande dal Canale della Giudecca, affacciandosi nel Bacino San Marco. Da lì si possono ammirare in tutta la loro maestosità i palazzi che si affacciano alla parte finale del Canal Grande, il Palazzo Ducale, la Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore e l’isola della Giudecca. La Punta della Salute è caratterizzata dalla presenza di un edificio seicentesco opera del Benoni, costituito da 8 campate e coronato da una torre. In cima alla torre c’è la Palla d'Oro, una sfera in bronzo dorato sostenuta da due atlanti, che raffigura il mondo. Sopra alla sfera si trova la statua della Fortuna, un’opera rotante che segna la direzione del vento. All’epoca della Serenissima l'edificio ospitava la Dogana da Màr organo preposto al controllo dell'entrata e dell'uscita delle merci dal territorio della Repubblica di Venezia. Nella Punta della Dogana è anche presente l'imponente mole della basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, opera del Longhena. La costruzione di questa bellissima ed imponente chiesa rappresenta un ex voto alla Madonna per la liberazione dalla peste che tra il 1630 e il 1631 decimò la popolazione di Venezia.
Questa nano-cache è nascosta molto vicino a Punta della Dogana. Porta una penna per loggarti. Dopo aver firmato il registro (logbook), potresti andare nella vicinissima Punta e scattare qualche foto da caricare insieme al log... Buona caccia!!


[ENG]: The Punta della Dogana, also called Punta della Salute, or Punta del Màr, is a very scenic zone of Venice. It appears as a subtle hint of triangular shape and it separates the Grand Canal from the Giudecca Canal, overlooking the San Marco basin. From there, you can admire the majesty of the buildings facing onto the end of the Grand Canal, the Palazzo Ducale, the Basilica of San Giorgio Maggiore, and the island of Giudecca. The Punta della Salute is characterized by the presence of a seventeenth-century building by the Benoni, consisting of 8 bays and crowned by a tower. In the top of the tower there is a golden ball called Palla d’Oro, a gilded bronze sphere supported by two atlases, and depicting the world. Above the sphere there is the Statua della Fortuna (meaning statue of Fortune), a rotating work that marks the direction of the wind. At the time of the Serenissima, the building housed the Dogana da Màr, bodies responsible for monitoring the entry and exit of goods from the territory of the Republic of Venice. In the Punta della Dogana is also present the imposing basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, the work of Longhena. The construction of this beautiful and imposing church is a votive offering to the Virgin for deliverance from the plague between 1630 and 1631 decimated the population of Venice.
