Skupine partizanov so se v Kocevskem Rogu zacele zbirati ze avgusta 1941. Od maja 1942 naprej so na podrocju Dolenjske, Notranjske in Bele krajine nastala obmocja osvobojenega ozemlja, Kocevski Rog pa je postal sredisce odpora okupaciji in domovanje vodstva OF. Ob ofenzivi leta 1942, se je moralo vodstvo umakniti v hribovje nad Polhovim Gradcem, kjer so se odlocili, da bodo v Kocevkskem Rogu partizanske bolnice, delavnice, sole, tiskarne in skladisca. Vodstvo se je v Rog vrnilo 17.4.1943, kjer so postavili prve barake in jih imenovali Baza 20. Barake so se, kot turisticna znamenitost, ohranile do danes. Baza 20 je postala glavni stab OF, vodstva slovenskih partizanskih enot in CK KPS.
Baza 20 je imela na koncu 26 barak. Bila je dovolj dobro skrita, da je sovraznik ni nikoli odkril.
Obcasno na zacetku urejene poti pobirajo vstopnino (2 €), ampak pravi partizan najde tudi drugo pot.

Groups of Partisans began to gather in Kocevski Rog as early as August 1941. From May 1942 on, large areas of liberated territory were established in Dolenjska, Notranjska and Bela krajina, with Kocevski Rog as the centre of resistance to the occupation and home to the leadership of the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People. Following an Italian offensive in the summer of 1942, the leaders fled to forested hills above Polhov Gradec, where they decided that Rog would be the location of Partisan hospitals, workshops, schools printing houses and stores. The leadership returned to Rog on 17 April 1943, setting up a major facility with associated barracks called Baza 20 (Base 20), which is still preserved and today is a tourist attraction. It became the headquarters of the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People, the headquarters of the High Command of Slovene Partisan troops and of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Slovenia (CK KPS).
At the end of war, Baza 20 had 26 basrracks. It was so well camouflaged that it was never discovered by the enemy.
From time to time someone collects a fee (2 €) at the start of the path. But a real partisan finds another way up.
