Geocache Description:

Doherty Park is a 65-acre scenic park that was transformed from an old gravel mine. Walking the mile-long well marked nature trail will bring you through a range of different ecosystems including old fields, ecotones, new forests, streams and ponds.

This cache is placed on the mile long blue blazed nature trail loop. The trail loop starts/ends right near the entrance to the park (kiosk is on the left). Parking is available between the entrance and exit roads.

Dogs are allowed on the trail if they are kept on a leash and if you clean up after them.

Hunting is NOT allowed in the park, so this SHOULD be safe during hunting season. You should, of course, take appropriate caution just in case, as hunting used to be allowed here.

The park is open from dawn to dusk.

We hope you enjoy the hike!

This cache has been placed with permission of the Town of Beekman Recreation Director.
