Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Grand River Park. The cache is within a few feet of the trail. It is a camouflaged Lock N Lock container (one of our food boxes). Watch for briars (and some poison ivy).

This cache was placed to commemorate my daughter's and my successful completion of Switzerland's Alpine Pass Route (see Related Web Page) in July 2009. The Alpine Pass Route starts in Sargans in the East near the Lichtenstein border. Over the course of about 220 miles, the route crosses 16 alpine passes with a total elevation change of approximately 65,000 feet (2.2 'Everests'). We left Sargans on July 3 and ended our trek in Montreux on the shore of Lake Geneva on July 25 (my 50th birthday) after 19 days of hiking and four rest days.

The initial cache contents include:

- Switzerland patch
- Pro Patria Centenary emblem
- Hotel Klausen-Passhoehe official flashlight keychain
- Assorted Swiss Franc coins
- Red Cross keychain
- Unregistered MIGO Winter Social 2009 geocoin
- Kandersteg Marmot travel bug
- Busy Bee travel bug
- Other assorted goodies
