Geocache Description:

Watch out for the gate -- it is not on the hinge pins, so be gentle when "opening". Please do not enter after dark. Cache is slightly smaller than a 35mm film container, camo'ed. BYOP.

Colerain Historical Cemetery - Bethel is one of over 20 historical cemeteries located throughout Colerain Township. I chose this site, as I am related to many of the individuals buried here - by blood, in the case of the Corsons, and many of the Davises married the Corson sons and daughters. In the late 1840s, Ithamer Corson owned ~50 acres, encompassing the area between what is now Gaines Rd. and Daleview Rd on the south side of Springdale Rd; Benjamin Davis owned the land on the other side of Gaines (including the land on which the cemetery is situated); and Parmenas Corson owned almost 150 acres east of that, straddling the intersection of Springdale Rd and the old Blue Rock Pike.

Check out the history section of the Colerain Township (visit link) web site for more information on other settlers of this area.

Not really wheelchair-accessible, mainly because of ditch between road and cemetery.
