This is a Letterbox (Hybrid) cache, so the above
coordinates are only the beginning of your quest. You
will need to follow the directions below to find your prize, a
small lock-n-lock. You will need a
compass.
PLEASE NOTE: Being that this is a Letterbox (Hybrid) cache, you
will find a stamp and stamp pad in the cache. These are
NOT trading items, but for use by the Letterboxers. So,
please see that they stay in the cache. Thanks.
This is a City Park, so caching only from dawn to dusk.
Please read the rules.
This Letterbox is located in Adell Durbin Park on the west side of
Darrow Road, just 0.3 of a mile south of the intersection of Darrow
Rd. (S.R. 91) and Kent Road (S.R. 59) in Stow,
Ohio. There is a large parking lot located right off of
Darrow Road.
Check the Park Rules sign in the northwest corner of the parking
lot. You can find trail maps here.
To complete your quest for this Letterbox (Hybrid) cache just
follow the directions below:
- Mark the location of your vehicle so that you can find your way
out. Then, proceed to the coordinates listed above. It's where the
Blue & Red Trails meet.
- Follow the Blue & Red Trails down the steps, past the
overlook, and across the bridge.
- Continue to follow the Blue & Red Trails at a bearing of
270°, along the Walnut Creek and up the hill. At the top
of the hill the tails split, the Red Trail goes right and the Blue
left. Continue to follow the Blue Trail at a bearing of 140°.
- The Blue and Red Trails will meet again. Follow them
at a bearing of 40°. Very shortly (30 paces) they will
split again. This time, follow the Red Trail at a bearing of
60°.
- Stay on the Red Trail. You will come to a point
where an unmarked trail comes in from the left and the Red Trail
goes off at a bearing of 140°. Follow the Red
Trail.
- The Red Trail will then intersect with the Yellow
Trail. Go left on the Yellow Trail at a bearing of
95°.
- There are two wooden overlooks on the Yellow Trail. Go past the
1st one and stop at the 2nd one. Take a bearing of 100°
from it's Southeast corner, and go that direction about 70 paces or
about 190 feet. This will bring you to the edge of the woods.
- At the edge of the woods follow the trail that heads down hill
into the woods, again at 100°, for about 65 paces or 165 feet.
- You are looking for a white pine with tag #39 on it. Check the
nearby dead fall.
Congratulations to
