The archway through which you enter the church was built in the
time of Edward the Confessor (1004-1066) as was the nave which is
one of the finest examples of Saxon herringbone masonry in the
country. This is best seen from outside.
In 1893 a tree fell on the church and it became a ruin. It
wasn't until 1951 that the church was restored.
To find the cache you will need to answer some questions in the
churchyard.
Question 1; At N 50 58.302 W 000 50.344 find out in what year
the tree was planted. Answer = 195A
Question 2; At N 50 58.303 W 000 50.336 When did Paul Marlow
die? Answer = 1BC0
Question 3; At N 50 58.312 W 000 50.336 there is a headstone for
Sir Peter Troubridge. He was born on Dth June 19E7.
