Pressburg s okolím do francúzskej záujmovej oblasti. Také boli
podmienky prímeria podpísaného v Znojme. Napoleonova
návšteva prebiehala údajne za prísne utajovaných podmienok,
vedel o nej len velitel tunajšej francúzskej posádky. Dva
Napoleonkou.
Zdroj:

EN:Historical sources say, that Napoleon Bonaparte visited
Bratislava on the 31.08.1809 during the inspection trip from Vienna
to Gyor, but just for a short time. After the defeat of the
Austrian army in the the Battle of Wagram, Pressburg –
Bratislava and its surroundings devolved to the French Empire. It
was one of the conditions of the truce, signed in Znojmo.
Napoleon’s visit was discreet and incognito. Only the
commander of the french army here knew about the visit. Two weeks
before the visit, French in Pressburg celebrated Napoleon’s
40th birthday. He didn’t show himself there, despite the
distance from Vienna is relatively small. A chronicler recorded,
that in the Old Reduta, on the representation ball on the
15.08.1809, there was approximatelly 1000 people there. In this
case, the emperor went through a trail bridge over Danube, and
visited Bratislava’s Castle, which was still beautiful and
untouched.( After two years, the Castle was destroyed by fire.)
Then Napoleon took rest on a elexation on the foothill of the
Somársky Vrch (Donkey Hill), between the Castle and Red Cross.
Later, the citizens of Pressburg named this hill
„Napoleon’s Hill“ . At the place, where he was
looking around, people elected a memorial stone with letters N.Q.
(lat. Napoleon queiscebet – Napoleon [was] resting [here]).
Also, they planted three oaks. One of them is still there, for his
rescue and rescue of whole Napoleon’s Hill was established
Citizen’s Union Fialkove Údolie (Violet valley). „We
were successful only partially,“ says spokeswoman of the
union. „The hill was carried away on large trucks, and a
multifunctional building was built there. Luckily, the developer
didn’t remove the old oak.“ Sadly, the memorial stone
was never found, however about 50 years ago, the stone was a symbol
of Napoleon’s Hill.
