Wildcat Ledge off of Bluebell Loop
note: the entire Wildcat Ledge Trail is less than half a mile BUT most of it is very steep. Don't worry. There is a bench at the top of a steep part. Then the trail levels off. There is a beautiful overlook just roughly 200 feet past the cache. You will know you're at the overlook when you see mainly shale.
For my Girl Scout Gold Award Project I am setting out a series of geocaches in Virginia State Parks. During my project, my goal is to allow families to have bonding time rather than just being in front of a computer or television screen. I believe this project will teach people more about Virginia which can be quite beneficial to everyone, especially children. I believe it would be exciting for participants to have some kind of motivation to go searching across the whole state of Virginia knowing that they have the possibility of winning a nice first to find prize which I am currently working on. The caches are in Fairy Stone SP, Andy Guest SP(Shenandoah SP),Douthat, First Landing, and Lake Anna for a total of five caches spread across Virginia. As part of my project, I'm also making an educational DVD and holding a CITO event on Saturday, September 19th at 9am in Andy Guest State Park, near Shelter 1 /canoe drop. While looking for the caches, there is a code word on the inside of each of the caches. Be sure to write down the code words in order from all five caches in case there is a First-to-Find prize for the first person who FINDS ALL FIVE CACHES and EMAILS THE CODE WORDS. The first-to-find isn't guaranteed yet. I'm still working on this. Have fun! :)
