Mestska kes Vas privede k zajimave stavbe v Jablonci nad Nisou. Historie mesta Jablonec nad Nisou je velmi pestra. Jablonec nad Nisou byl 28.brezna 1866 povysen na mesto cisarem Frantiskem Josefem I.

Velmi neblahy zasah do stavby byl proveden Okresnim stavebnim podnikem po roce 1960. Vsechna pruceli, opatrena puvodne vapennou hlazenou omitkou, byla zcela otlucena a zbavena vsech stukovych detailu. Zustal zachovan zulovy sokl, nektera puvodni okna, hlavni vstup se secesnimi dvermi, na strechach zustaly vsechny puvodni prvky. Pak vsak prisla drtiva rana. U prehrady vznikl petadvacetimetrovy bazen a plavci se k laznim obratili zady. Prudce klesla navstevnost. Vydaje zacaly vyrazne prekracovat prijmy. V prvni polovine devadesatych let mesto z lazni ziskavalo milion a pul rocne, dvakrat tolik ale stal jejich provoz. Aby mestska pokladna usetrila, radní rozhodli o vypusteni bazenu. V roce 1994 jeste nechali spravit pulku strechy. Po roce 2001 ale skoncily posledni provozovny a budovu obsadili bezdomovci. Ti si na dne bazenu zapalovali ohne. Mestska policie a hasici byli na miste skoro denne.

City Spa

City’s case leads you to an interesting building in Jablonec nad Nisa. The history of Jablonec nad Nisa is very remarkable. Jablonec nad Nisa was granted a post of a city on 28. April 1866 by Emperor Frantisek Josef I.

The property of city spa is located in a street called Budovatelu in Jablonec nad Nisa. In the past this house was built as a private spa for the emperor Frantisek Josef in 1908 – 1909 in a street at that time known as Burgerstrasse. The cost of this project was around 550 000 Kc. At this location, there used to stand a small ground floor house number 430, it was called “Jagerhaus bei Laurischmuhle”. The spa was built as one of the first public houses by the city and on the 5. May 1910 its doors were open to public. This building was projected as a linear art nouveau structure by architect Robert Hemmrich. For example in 1929 the spa visited 1 640 872 paying people, because the price was very low, which made it affordable for everyone. In the centre of the spa, there was a swimming hall with a 15m long, 7,5m wide and 3,5m deep pool; it was also equipped with a 1m high jumping board. This indoor spa also offered roman- irish steam room (nowadays sauna), people’s steam bath, bath tubs and showers, air and sunny baths, massage, sanitarian and medical facility. After 1960 there was a very unpleasant disruption in the structure made by the City development business. All the façade that used to be covered in smooth whitewash, were stripped down with all the decorative details. There was left only granite plinth, some original windows, main entrance with art nouveau doors, on the roof all the original decoration was left. This followed an overwhelming blow. By the local dam was built a 25m long swimming pool and all swimmers turned their backs at the spa. The number of people visiting the spa vigorously decreased. The expenses were bigger then income. In the first half of 90, the city made from the spa 1,5 Kc per year, but the service of the spa was twice as high. So the city’s councilors decided to empty the pool to save some money. In 1994 half of the roof was fixed. After 2001 all the works were stopped and the building was occupied by homeless. They made fires at the bottom of the pool. The city’s police and firefighters were there on daily bases.
