Mala vesnice Stracov se nachazi asi 15 km severozapadne od Hradce Kralove nedaleko hlavni silnice Hr.Kralove- Jicin.

Historie
Prvni zminka o Stracove pochazi z r. 1358 a v roce 2008 slavila tedy obec 650 let od prvni pisemne zminky. Vyznam Stracova stoupl zvlast za vlady Vladislava Jagelonce, ktery vesnici r. 1495 obdaril titulem mestecka a udelil mu privilegia tydennich trhu. Majitele Stracova se v dejinach casto stridali. V r. 1838 zakoupil Stracov za 135 tis. zlatych majitel sadovskeho panstvi hrabe Frantisek Arnost Harrach. V majetku rodu Harrachu zustala potom obec az do parcelace v r. 1923. Dominantou obce je kostel sv. Jakuba, ktery byl ve spolupraci obce s cirkvi v letech 1997-1998 opraven a jehoz osvetlena vez je ve dne i v noci viditelna z dalekeho okoli.

Nase putovani zacina prave pred kostelem sv. Jakuba (parkovani je mozne temer vsude okolo s vyjimkou hlavni silnice). Nedaleko pod kostelem je nove zhotoveny pomnik obetem prvni sv. valky pochazejicich ze Stracova. Vasim ukolem je spocitat pocet schodu do hlavniho vstupu kostela. Ta se nachazi po cca 200 m na okraji vesnice u hrbitova s peknym vyhledem do kraje a v pripade dobreho pocasi i na Krkonose. Milovnici kesek pripominajici bitvu v r. 1866 (kterych je v okoli nepocitane) mohou na hrbitove nalezt pomnik uctivajici padle v katastru obce.
Parkovani mozne primo u hrbitova, prosim jen o nenapadne chovani a vraceni kesky na stejne misto z duvodu maskovani kesky!

EN: The small village Stracov is situated about 15km northwest from Hradec Kralove near the main road to Jicin.

History
The first written mention of Stracov comes from 1358 and thus in 2008 the village celebrated 650 years of this first mention. An importance of Stracov rose especially during the reign of Vladislav Jagelonsky who gave the title of the town to this village in 1495 and granted it privileges of weekly markets. Owners of Stracov often changed then. In 1838 Frantisek Arnost Harrach purchased Stracov for 135 ths. golds. The genus Harrach owned the village till the land parcel process in 1923. The St. James church is the main sight of the village. Its was repaired in 1997-1998 and its illuminated tower can be seen both during day and at night from distant surroundings.

Our hunting starts just in front of the St. James church (parking is available almost everywhere around except of the main road). There is a new monument devoted to the 1st world war victims that lived in the village near the church. Your task is to count all steps leading to the main entrance of the church. It’s situated about 200m far in the outskirts of the village by the graveyard with nice outlook to the lands and Giant mountains too. There are plenty of caches commemorating the battle in 1866 within whole region and you can also find a memorial devoted to this event at the graveyard.
