Along the Longitude
The longitude coordinates given above are correct, while the
latitude coordinates are not. The cache is somewhere along that
line of longitude. Go find it!
Still here? Okay, I guess you need more information. I have
hidden the cache exactly 4,772,996.2963 metres north of the
equator. Off you go then!
Oh, alright, let's simplify things further. Assume the Earth's
surface curves uniformly from the equator to the poles. Therefore
all degrees of latitude cover an equal distance of the surface of
the Earth. All you need to get started is the distance from the
equator to the poles.
You still here? Okay, two more hints. For my calculations, I
rounded off the distance from the equator to the poles to the
nearest million metres. I rounded off all my decimal calculations
to six decimal places. You should too.
If you know how to solve this puzzle, you could work out the
solution faster than the time it takes to load Google Earth (which,
by the way, you don't need for this puzzle).
