Geocache Description:

The Very Jolly Jaunt is a fairly long walk of just over 6 miles, comprising of 10 caches of various sizes. It takes you through some very lovely countryside and villages but please becareful as some of the footpaths are not very well maintained. The walk will take between 2 1/2 - 3 hours.

From Shalford Village Cache follow the footpaths heading towards Valley Farm, waypoints added to help. There are some lovely views from these footpaths. Rotten End is a small hamlet. It was named in 1777 and no one is 100% sure of its origin. We can only presume it derives from decay/decomposition as it lies near to the river and has friable soil / soft ground.

Rotten end has several impressive properties, one of these being the Priest House. It dates back to the early 16th century and has an impressive central chimneystack. Another is Spices, which is an early 15th century hall and used to be a granary within the 16th Century.

You are looking for a regular size clip box container, containing log book, pen and various swaps.
