Geocache Description:

When: Sunday, August 23, 8:30am
Where: Hope Road Intersection, AK
Why: Fun on the water in beautiful Alaska
How: Guided inflatable oar & paddle rafts

It is time for some real Alaskan adventure.

Come join us for some very serious whitewater fun as we take a whitewater adventure ride through the 6 Mile Creek. There will be lots of fun to be had and memories to be made as we soak ourselves in the glory of some of the biggest whitewater in Alaska, on a guided rafting trip through an awesome intense section of river.

This is not a trip for the beginner. This is class IV & V whitewater. After the raft trip in July everyone wanted more and bigger water, so here it is, the biggest guided water in all of Alaska. In July we had four full boats and lots of smiling faces.

All the gear is provided as part of the package with the guide service. You will need to wear warm layered clothing under the dry suits to stay warm, but the dry suits will keep the cold water from soaking you. There is limited space and a fee associated with this event. We have 20 seats reserved for this trip and each attendee will need to call and secure their seat with a 50% deposit. The trip is open to ages 12 and up for the two canyon run and ages 16 and up for the three canyon run and will cost $118.15 per person for the three canyon run and $80.75 for the two canyon run. You will need to call 800-746-5753 and mention the GeocacheAlaska! rafting trip August 23 when you are reserving your seats.

This trip should fill up fast so hurry and sign up and secure your deposit. Come join us as we celebrate the grandeur of the great State we live in.

We will all meet at the listed coordinates at the Hope Road cut-off at 8:30am in preparation of a 9:00am departure for the river. This should be a great trip. It is possible to not do all three canyons if you don’t feel up to the class V water in the third canyon. The cost of the trip is less for the two canyon run.

See you all on the river.
