Multicache vas zavede k opravenemu Jindrichohradeckemu zidovskemu hrbitovu.

Zidovske osidleni Jindrichova Hradce (nem. nazev Neuhaus) v malem poctu je datovano od prvni poloviny 14. stoleti do druhe poloviny 18. stoleti. Od te doby pocetne vzrustajici nabozenska obec existovala az do nacisticke okupace. Jindrichuv Hradec byl mj. rodistem nekolika umelcu zidovskeho puvodu - pianisty a operniho dirigenta Kurta Adlera (1907 - 1977), operniho pevce, basisty Narodniho divadla Karla Bermana (1919 - 1995) a malire Roberta Piesena (1921 - 1977).

Zidovsky sidelni okrsek tvorilo nekolik domu v dnesni Skolni ulici. Na narozi s ulici Kostelni vznikla po polovine predminuleho stoleti synagoga (dnes kaple Cirkve Ceskoslovenske husitske - viz wp synagoga) v pruceli s gotickymi okny a romanskym vlysem ve stite (c.p. 188/I).


Zidovsky hrbitov

Na jihozapadnim okraji mesta na vysine nad levym brehem Nezarky, kdysi casti panske zahrady, slouzici jako sokolnicke cviciste, byl okolo roku 1400 zalozen zidovsky hrbitov. Mezi lety 1557 az 1576 doslo k jeho rozsireni, v roce 1773 byl ohrazen zdi. Dalsi rozsireni nasledovalo v polovine 19. století. I kdyz zide zili v Jindrichove Hradci jiz od konce 13. století, kdy Oldrich z Hradce ziskal od krale Václava II. pravo usadit ve meste osm zidovských rodin, nejstarsi dochovany nahrobek tradicni kvadratni formy pochazi z roku 1638. K zajimavejsim z dalsich ctyriceti kamenických prací ze 17.-18. stoleti se radi manzelsky nahrobek ve tvaru Mojzisovych desek z doby 1729 - 1731, dva nahrobky se symbolem zehnajicich rukou (knezska rodina Kohenu) z let 1769 a 1772, z mladsich pak nahrobek s Davidovou hvezdou z roku 1809 (Jakutil, syn Semuela levity).
Na hrbitove je zhruba 200 nahrobku.


Funkcionalisticka obradni sin s puvodnim zarizenim byla dokoncena roku 1937 - tara s omyvacim stolem, vozovna s dochovanym pohrebnim vozem. Posledni obrad byl zde vykonan v roce 1962. Hrbitov od konce 20. stoleti do soucasnosti prosel rekonstrukci (oprava ohradniho zdiva, obnoveni ponicenych nahrobku, rekonstrukce hrobnického domu, ve kterem bydli staly spravce hrbitova). Na restaurovani ceka jeste obradni sin s vybavenim, ktera je v soucasne dobe nepristupna. Zidovsky hrbitov je soucasti historicke a kulturni pamatky mesta Jindrichova Hradce.

Hrbitov je pristupny krome Zidovskych svatku a mimo soboty.
Prohlidku je mozne domluvit primo u spravce hrbitova.

The first Jewish settlement in the town (Neuhaus = German name of Jindrichuv Hradec) is dated from the first half of 14th century to the second half of 18th century. Increasing congregation continued until Nazi occupation. Jindrichuv Hradec was native town of some artists of Jewish origin - pianist and opera director Kurt Adler (1907 - 1977), opera singer, basists of National theatre Karel Berman (1919 - 1995) and painter Robert Piesen (1921 - 1977).

Jewish ghetto constituted of several houses in old part of the town. In the half of 19th century grew up there synagogue with Gotical windows and Romanic frieze in gable (nowadays Czechoslovak Hussite Church - see wp synagogue).


The Cemetery

On the west-southern part of the town, on a hill over the eastern bank of the Nezarka river was established at the beginning of 15th century. The area was extended in the half of 16th and the second half of 19th century. Although Jews lived in Hradec since the end of 13th cenrury the oldest traditional cuboid tombstone comes from year 1638. Connubial tombstone in shape of Moses' tablets from 1729 - 1731, two tombstones with symbol of blessing hands (Kohens family) from 1769 and 1772 ang eg. younger tombstone with the Star of David are rated among another interesting tombstones from 17th - 18th century.

Functionalistic ceremonial hall from 1937 with the original equipment - a taharah with a cleaning table, a shelter with a preserved hearse and a gravedigger's house. Last ceremony here was done in 1962.

The cemetery was under restoration since the the end of 20th century.

Opening time of cemetery is everyday except of saturdays and Jewish feasts.
