The Lyrebird and Cascade trails in Tidbinbilla are the two newest trails in the Tidbinbilla nature reserve. There are now a couple of caches nearby to add to your reasons for visit.
This cache is located on the Lyrebird trail. The Lyrebird trail is 2.7k and is rated as easy. However there are some bits that I think would be hard to push a stroller. There are bridges over all the creeks but I think geokiddies would need to be closely supervised near the water parts.
I can vouch for the Lyrebird activity, noisy little beggars. Also take the time to listen to the bubbling creeks.
The cache is located with 10m of the trail so please don't leave the path too early. I think on weekends, a degree of stealth might be required.
Admission fees are charged from 1 Aug 2009 - a $20 annual fee for a car I feel is good value or $10 per visit.
