GÓIS
Góis é uma vila
portuguesa com mais de 8 séculos de existência, no Distrito de
Coimbra, região Centro e subregião do Pinhal Interior Norte, com
cerca de 6.000 habitantes. Situada a 40 Km de Coimbra, num vale
(Vale do Ceira) estreito e profundo, entre as serras do Carvalhal e
do Rabadão.
É sede de um
município com 263,72 km² de área, subdividido em 5 freguesias. O
município é limitado a norte pelo município de Arganil, a leste por
Pampilhosa da Serra, a sudoeste por Pedrógão Grande e por
Castanheira de Pêra, a oeste pela Lousã e a noroeste por Vila Nova
de Poiares.

O Concelho de
Góis, pela sua natureza rural, tem muito para oferecer aos
visitantes que chegam ao concelho.
O rio, principal
elo de ligação de todo o Concelho, dá aos visitantes e veraneantes
uma paisagem deslumbrante, desde a terras altas da freguesia do
Colmeal até ao Cerro da Candosa (freguesia de Vila Nova do Ceira),
local onde se despede do Concelho de Góis para dar entrada no da
Lousã.
A fundação da
vila é atribuída ao Conde D. Henrique, no século XII.
Do antigo, restam
na freguesia de Góis alguns notáveis monumentos, que impõem a que
neles nos detenhamos: a igreja matriz, construção original do
século XV, sofreu grandes modificações nos séculos seguintes.
Ainda pode
visitar em Góis a Capela do Castelo, Capela de S. Sebastião, Ponte
Manuelina banhar-se nas águas límpidas do Ceira e reconfortar-se no
belo Parque do Cerejal.

Gastronomia
Com o andar dos
tempos, muitos foram os pratos tradicionais que se perderam, no
entanto, está a ser feito um esforço para que se recuperem para a
gastronomia dos nossos dias, tendo sido já possível recuperar a
célebre Sopa de Castanhas e o Bucho de Góis. O Pão de Milho, a
célebre Broa, são alimentos típicos de Góis que são muito
apreciados tanto pelos residentes como pelos visitantes.
O Mel, um dos
mais apreciados de Portugal, é um condimento que entra em alguns
pratos típicos de Góis, tais como nas Filhós de Mel. |
Artesanato
Em Góis produzem-se artigos artesanais de
grande qualidade, tais como artigos em estanho e rendas.
Festas, feiras e romarias
Todas as
terças-feiras é realizado o mercado semanal, sendo a 13 de Agosto a
Feira Anual e a 1 de Novembro a Feira dos Santos.
A festa de S.
João a 24 de Junho e o Feriado Municipal a 13 de Agosto são as
festividades principais. |
Fundado em
Fevereiro de 1991 por um grupo de amigos e adeptos do motociclismo,
o Góis Moto Clube é uma
associação sem fins lucrativos que se dedica à realização de
actividades desportivas, nomeadamente no âmbito motorizado,
culturais e turísticas.
Passados doze
anos, a evolução foi de tal forma que em Góis existe uma das
melhores reuniões de motociclistas do País, tendo actualmente
alcançado o estatuto da “segunda maior concentração mototurística
de âmbito nacional”.
Sendo que
anulamente em todos os segundos fins de semanas de Agosto a Vila de
Góis recebe de braços abertos os milhares de Motociclistas que se
deslocam até aqui com uma paixão. As Motas!

The Municipality of Góis by its rural nature, has much
to offer visitors who come to the county.
The river, the main link connecting the entire County, gives
visitors and holidaymakers a breathtaking landscape, from the
uplands of the parish of “Colmeal” to the “Cerro da Candosa”
(parish of Vila Nova do Ceira), where they dismiss the County of
Góis to entry in the Lousã.
The foundation of the town is attributed to Count D. Henry, in the
XII century.
The old, left the parish of Góis some notable monuments, which
require us to stop them: the mother church, the original
construction of the fifteenth century, has undergone major changes
in the following centuries.
In Góis can still see the Chapel of the Castle, Chapel
of St. Sebastian, Ponte “Manuelina” and bathe in the clearing
waters of Ceira and take a pause to recover in the beautiful park
of Cerejal.

Dining
With the floor of the times, many
traditional dishes that were lost, however, is being done to make
an effort to recover the gastronomy of today, having been able to
recover the famous soup of Chestnuts and the “Bucho” of Góis. The
Bread of maize, the famous “Broa”, are typical of Góis foods that
are very much appreciated by residents and by visitors.
The
Honey, one of the most appreciated of Portugal, is entering a
condiment in some dishes of Góis, such as the honey
“Filhós”.

Crafts
In Góis produce is
of high quality craft items such as articles in tin and
lace.
Festivals, fairs and pilgrimages
Every Tuesday the
market is held weekly, with the Fair on August 13 and November 1
Annual Fair of the Saints.
The feast of St.
John on 24 June and the Holiday Hall on Aug 13 are the main
festivities. |
Founded in February 1991 by a group of friends and
fans in motorcycling, the Góis
Moto Clube is a non-profit association dedicated to the
achievement of sporting activities, particularly in the motor
context, culture and tourism.
After twelve years, the development was such that in
Góis is one of the best meetings of motorcyclists in the country,
has now achieved the status of “second largest national
concentration of bikers”.
Since annular in the second weekend of August the
Village of Góis received with open arms thousands of riders who
move up here with a passion. The bikes!
