On June 23, 2009, the Czech trawler Igne foundered on the
rocky shoals known as 44th Perfect. When the ship started taking on
water, the desperate captain began frantically radioing for help.
It didn't take long for the vessel to sink into the gloomy depths
of the Paf Sea. Igne was lost, but the captain was rescued by the
fair maiden Muddy who happened along at just the right time.
An expedition recently set out to locate the wreck of the Igne.
Using conventional no-decompression scuba, the team made 3 dives
per day at various depths over a two day period.
On day one, the team made their first dive to 60 feet for 38
minutes. During the surface interval back on board the dive boat,
they decided their next dive also needed to go to 60 feet and they
would need 34 minutes to cover the intended search area. After this
second dive, the team decided to make one more attempt that day in
50 feet of water. They decided they needed at least an hour and 2
minutes under water to search the third area.
Day two dawned and the team eagerly anticipated making the find.
They knew they were getting close. Their first dive of the day went
to 80 feet for 30 minutes. Toward the end of that dive, one of the
team members spotted the wreckage in deeper water. The team was
anxious to get back in the water and decided to plan a short 6
minute dive to 100 feet to check it out. Sure enough, on this
second dive of the second day which actually lasted only 5 minutes,
they finally confirmed they had found the wreck. For the final dive
of the expedition, they decided to plan a dive to 90 feet for 18
minutes so they could take some photos.

A=the minimum surface interval in minutes between dive 1 and 2
on day one.
B=the minimum surface interval in minutes between dive 2 and 3
on day one. Use a "0" in front if it is less than 100.
C= the minimum surface interval in minutes between dive 1 and 2
on day two.
D= the minimum surface interval in minutes between dive 2 and 3
on day two. Use a "0" in front if it is less than 100.
