This cache is a part of The Cacher Tribute Series, a series which tries to honor the cachers that have had the most influence over us in our young caching career. The cachers honored in this series have made our caching experience more exciting, more enjoyable, more meaningful. We will be putting out these caches as we get them completed and this will be an ongoing series as we have not already met all of the cachers that will have a profound effect on us. One of the great things about caching is communicating with other cachers and sometimes the best way to communicate with another cacher is through hiding and finding caches.

Mystery Cacher

This cache is a tribute for a puzzle master. We felt it only fitting to leave the cacher's name a mystery that you will have to figure out. The puzzles herein which we have left guarding the cache location contain some difficult and challenging elements, but even so they may seem like nothing compared to the optional puzzle (only for the true genius) of figuring out the identity of the Mystery Cacher. Let's start off with a little bit about this Mystery Cacher. Although the Mystery Cacher proclaims to be disinterested in geo-numbers, the rest of us can't help but feel a little daunted at the staggering number, 12,405 at the time of publication. The Mystery Cacher is currently the cacher with the 33rd most geocaches found in the world. Finding so many caches is in no way easy, but could be made simpler by only finding easy, traditional 1/1s, but the Mystery Cacher prefers more of a challenge, having solved and found over 500 puzzle caches. But wait... the impressive accomplishments of the Mystery Cacher don't stop there. Although finding so many thousands of geocaches and solving so many hundreds of puzzles takes up a lot of a person's time, the Mystery Cacher still finds the time to hangout with geofriends, and you will often find this cacher at the local events mingling with the geo-community. The first time I saw the Mystery Cacher, it was appropriately somewhat of a puzzle for me. I was at a grunion run in San Pedro when I saw someone asking the parking guard about parking. I felt like I had seen this person before, but I wasn't sure where. I thought it was perhaps on geocaching.com, and I looked through profiles I had recently looked at to find out the identity of the Mystery Cacher. (Unfortunately for you, it will be somewhat more difficult for you to ascertain the Mystery Cacher's identity because I have hidden the clues in the form of a puzzle.) I later, was fortunate to meet the Mystery Cacher for the first time at an First To Find on a puzzle cache we had both solved. Through speaking with him that night and since I have learned many puzzle solving techniques. The Mystery Cacher enriched not only our puzzle solving skills, but also our diet as at one of their events we were fed delicious and educational snack of Worm Larva.
