The new Tanegashima airport opened and replaced an old airport on March 16, 2006. It is famous because there are a lot of flight cancellations by the fog because of having been made in the Plateau. The glide slope has expanded 2000m, but the regular flights has decreased only three flights every day between Kagoshima according to the traveler decrease. The terminal building was made in modern style, but the waiting room is small, and uncomfortable. About the airport site, it is known that Kagoshima Prefecture was purchasing it from "Ichimaru Group Company" who is a major land tenant by an improper method.
Don't forget about the cache. It's placed in the view place by the airport.
